The Potter

I’m an Artist and Educator who started my own studio in Pittsburgh’s South Side in 2021. I’ve been honing my clay skills since middle school, which is truly when I fell in love with this material!

My Educator journey has led me to teach in Harrisburg, Yangon, Myanmar, and now at my alma mater! My time spent overseas gave me the opportunity to participate in two international ceramic residencies.

One at The Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, and another at Guldagergaard, The International Ceramic Research center in Denmark.

My process involves shaping angular porcelain vessels on the wheel, cutting out three small triangles, then smoothing it all back together, but leaving behind visible lines so the user can see where it has changed.

My forms are dressed in my own compositions of the daily sights I found myself in awe of at every turn throughout my travels.  The lush tropical plants, ornate architecture, places of worship, and general daily life, are deep sources of inspiration.

As a ceramic Artist and Educator, I continue to seek and grow from my findings, therefore my work is continuously evolving.

The Propagator

I'm a Plant Enthusiast who started nurturing my green thumb when volunteering for the Homegrown program at Phipps Garden Center in Pittsburgh. I used this knowledge to build a 3' x 6' raised bed garden to grow tomatoes and peppers on my small city balcony, plus whatever came in Doug Oster's Seed of the Month Club.

This hobby quickly spiraled out of control into succulents, air plants, cacti, and even bonsai, which now fill the walls and corners of my house in various stages of life and death (for the air plants especially - mostly death).

The propagation phase of my plant hobby bloomed when Katy needed more plants!

We quickly realized we're the perfect duo- potter who makes planters matched with plant enthusiast in need of plant homes!
